![]() ![]() If thats the case, I would prefer to go with a brand know for track quality wheels such as HRE. A lot is being said on the internet that these are not true track wheels and are more for just Show or Bling. A wheel cracking at that speed could have very negative results. So before really choosing a wheel, I want to be confident this thing wont come apart at 160-180 MPH (or at any speed). I am going to put these wheels on a car that Ill have close to 1/2 Million into (MSRP $405k plus tax, wheels, Novitec Stage 2). Note the actual color of the rendered wheel is brighter Gloss gunmetal, Mine would be a bit darker in Matte Gunmetal. Attached is a Render Wheels Boutique did for me on the Spec I have. I think a 21/22 Combo in Gunmetal Matte on a Canne Di Fucile 488 with Novitec Springs would be killer. White Ferrari 488 GTB - ADV10.0 M.V2 SL - Gunmetal After tons of google searching and forum reading, I fell in love with the ADV1 M2 Wheel found HERE. I have been looking at a set of wheels for a 488 Spider arriving soon. Here is where I am at now and some info I found forcing me be hesitant on my decision. Bottom line, Would you trust this brand on your pride exotic car? I really like the wheels, but waiting to hear from my fellow community members before making a final decision. Can anyone share their experience and thoughts of ADV1 as they stand now in 2016 and not so much of what their past has been dirtied with. ![]() Has all this been cleared up as we fast forward to 2016? Or did ADV1 just have great marketing to go off and capture the market of unaware consumers. It seems is 2012-2013 there was a lot of bad publicity. I really would just like to know what the Current feel for quality and support that can be had from ADV1 is. Hence, the “37” moniker.I hope this inst digging up the dead. To further separate the SL from its predecessors, Rays Engineering offers it in an exclusively distinct color thanks to advanced paint and machining processes.Ī little bit of trivia: did you know that the original TE37, which was a 15” wheel, weighs only 3.7 kilograms (8.16 lbs). The exact weight savings depend on the size. They achieved this by shaving certain areas of the wheel, mostly at the back of the spokes and in the center. ![]() The result is a lighter wheel which means less un-sprung weight which means this wheel is made to be more track-focused than ever before. The Super Lap (SL) edition improves on that by shedding even more weight without sacrificing the stiffness these wheels are known for. The TE37 was already an incredibly strong wheel, to begin with. By creating the shape of the wheel during the forging process, the grain of the metal flows with the shape of the wheel, resulting in much greater strength. Technically, mold-form forging process creates the shape of the wheel during the forging process. But the TE37 is formed using a unique method called mold-form forging. The truth is, the TE37 is famous because of how it is constructed. You can say that the simplistic, iconic 6-spoke design is responsible for its popularity. In the world of aftermarket racing rims, perhaps the most popular is the Volk TE37. They are also widely used by enthusiasts and grassroots racers all over the world. Volk Racing Wheels are used by race teams from Nissan, Honda, Toyota, and Mazda in iconic events like Super GT, Japanese Touring Car Championship (JTCC), British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), Formula Nippon, Formula D and Formula One. The end result is a wheel that has much greater strength. Their mold-form forging process works by creating the shape of the wheel during the forging process, which allows the grain of the metal to flow with the shape of the wheel. They're well known for being incredibly lightweight and extremely strong, thanks to their unique forging process. Volk Racing is the gold standard of high-end forged wheels. Using the clean silhouette and lack of ostentation of its Volk Racing wheels as a weapon, Ray’s envisions to fit them on all high-performance cars throughout the world. The lightness and strength of Volk wheels have been attained by applying the latest analytic technologies. The VOLK RACING wheel brand represents the benchmark for forged sport wheels that leverage racing technology. ![]()
